My new copy just arrived two days ago and I am blown away with the improvements. Full color throughout and, the very first thing I looked for, GPS coordinates for the trailheads. There are numerous improvements and hike design features that will enable novice hikers to feel more confident in exploring Montana. Priced under $20 it is a bargain and an investment that will pay off many times for me. My hobby is running a hiking group through meetup.com called Helena Hikers. We hike all over Montana and honestly I was spending half my hike planning time just trying to follow poorly written directions to trailheads that were in previous editions. What I am saying is, even if you can get a previous edition at a deep discount - DON'T. The new edition is the only way to go. No need to make your hike experience difficult, the authors have truly reached a new peak with the Hiking Montana book. My copy will become well used very quickly.
This is the best hiking guide I have. Beautiful photos, great information. I especially love that it includes difficulty levels.

Amazing book! I have used many editions before this and all of them are very reliable. It covers the best hikes in Montana from Glacier National Park to the Beartooths. Definitely worth the money!
