This book is a short and sweet read, it’s an historical story and so the language and clothing described are for that period in time. Also, the attitude of both the men and women and those of differing class are different to how it is today. I thought the plot was an interesting one and I am looking forward to reading the next book to see how the plot develops. There is no instant chemistry between any of the characters and the story is told from the maiden’s point of view. It’s an enjoyable read that only takes about an hour to read cover to cover. Eleanor needs a job to help support her family. She applies for a job at the Beckett estate. She doesn't realize that Lord Beckett has certain expectations of his staff. Failure to follow his rules will result in punishment. She is interviewed by Mr Engstrom, Lord Beckett's steward.This story is a very quick read about the beginning of Elanor's experiences on the estate.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the tantalizing introduction to the still-innocent Eleanor who is in the big city looking for employment to support her mother and two younger siblings. Becoming desperate to find something, she has the brilliant idea to work on the Beckett estate and finds herself corralled into the mansion and under the attention of Lord Becketts senior staff members. Things are likely to become even more exciting in the next installment.
This was the first time reading this authors work and I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from her. Really look forward to reading the reast of this story, I thought it was a really well wrote short steamy read.Had a great storyline and great characters to read about.Plus it a steamyyy read.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
